Artist Series: Haruka Ostley
Today we present Haruka Ostley, a multidisciplinary artist who we commissioned for our latest line of hand-drawn Narnia-inspired cards.
Born in Japan and raised across four continents and eight homes, Haruka’s diverse background deeply shapes her creative vision.
Her work spans painting, live performance painting, murals, collaborative and public works, often rooted in personal stories of human experience, ranging from intimate family and neighborhood narratives to social-justice-oriented community murals that invite the viewer to explore her ongoing commitment to blending emotional honesty, cultural memory, and cross-cultural collaboration in her art.
Mythril Made commissioned six pieces of original watercolor art from Haruka. Each piece is inspired by C.S. Lewis’ world of Narnia with intent and meaning behind each hand painted selection:
- Faith: The Wardrobe
- Leadership: Aslan
- Wonder: The Lamppost
- Strength: Rhindon the Sword
- Sanctuary: Cair Paravel
- Devotion: Reepicheep
