Artist Series: Gill Rippingale

Today we present Gill Rippingale, artist and illustrator who we commissioned for two of our favorite art cards.

Gill Rippingale, an artist out of Lancaster, Lancashire, England has been a creator of original and unique artwork and jewelry, a lover of nature, fairytales, myths and legends, for as long as she can remember. For Gill, it’s “all about the detail” and her love of forests and trees, and in particular the handling and working with the fine details of wood, have held a magical fascination for her, and that precision and detail is reflected in her work.

Years of honing her drawing skills, using fine tipped hotwire pyrography to create miniature jewelry pieces using only solid woods, and her original paintings, has created a deep pool of nature-inspired original artwork across multiple mediums.

Mythril Made commissioned two pieces of original art from Gill and we approach these cards with care and thoughtfulness, using decades of experience and skill with art, printing, and the technologies available to us now and from centuries ago, to create each individual card using techniques from the past.
