New Hobbit and Sci-Fi Inspired Cards Now Available!

Just released are four new hand-crafted letterpress cards inspired by Hobbits, Stranger Things, and Star Wars!

The first in a line of our “Favorite Things” cards was inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien and Hobbits!

These are a few of my favorite things.
The Hobbit, The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, The Return of the King, The Silmarillion, Elves, Hobbits, Dwarves, Balrogs (kinda), definitely second breakfast, pints, pipeweed, bacon, the Shire, did I mention second breakfast?
But most of all …

A beautiful drop-cap on cotton paper with soy ink (Hobbits were eco-friendly after all), crafted on a 60+ year old letterpress printer by hand using the same techniques master printers have used for centuries.

Also released are 3 new cards designed by a very talented 10-year old, Lily!  Lily is a huge fan of Star Wars and Stranger Things and she (with a little help from family on the quotes) came up with and designed these unique illustrations for our new card line: Galaxy of Heroes!

We have three cards in our new “Galaxy of Heroes” series, two inspired by Star Wars, one inspired by Stranger Things, and all illustrated by Lily, a 10 year old artist and illustrator!

We’re extremely pleased to announce our full line of hand-crafted letterpress cards is now being carried by Oblation papers & press in Portland, OR!

Oblation papers & press was founded by husband-and-wife duo, Jennifer and Ron Rich, who began selling their handmade paper goods at the Eugene Saturday Market in the late 1980s. They opened their brick and mortar store in Portland’s pearl district in 1998 and since its inception, the store has brought handmade papers, stationary, cards, and more, to a wide community of shoppers and lovers of handmade paper products.

We create fantasy and sci-fi inspired handcrafted letterpress cards! With backgrounds in letterpress printing and design, we’ve created a line of cards we think many in our community will enjoy, from our Elven, Viking, and Dungeons & Dragons inspired cards to our commissioned art cards from well known artists, Anita Inverarity and Gill Rippingale. Oblation papers & press picked up our full-line of cards and they’re available to purchase now in their shop.
